CRICKET

You might be surprised to know that your helmet is actually designed to only “work once” That is, once you’ve had any kind of impact (struck by a ball, dropped on the ground), its time to replace your helmet or faceguard. 25% of all cricket injuries are to the head, neck and face. Mainly being concussions, contusions and lacerations. An injury to the face by a cricket ball is one of the most common types of hospital treated injuries in cricket. Although helmets do not prevent you from all injuries it does however help to prevent you from suffering a serious head injury. A certified cricket helmet is the safest and smartest way to protect yourself during batting. Given the statistics concerning injuries, the albion® team have made it their priority to conduct regular helmet testing, showing a commitment to meeting, exceeding and working towards improved cricket helmet standards.
